Site Re-Design: DSFC (Down Syndrome Family Connection)

Gettin' Down Central Wisconsin (the original, current name of the organization) is “...an organization providing families of loved ones with Down syndrome with support and resources.” While the intentions of this organization are positive and supportive, I found their title inappropriate and unprofessional. So I changed it to Down Syndrome Family Connection (DSFC) and designed a new identity.
A couple screenshots illustrate what the original, existing website for Gettin' Down Central Wisconsin looks like.
I decided to basically completely redo everything including a new logo, color scheme and layout that gave off a more positive and lighthearted feeling. I also wanted to work more with imagery because the website itself contained a photo gallery with a handful of images that could be put to more use in the design of the website itself.
The homepage of the redesigned site has a simpler layout that relies heavily on imagery and the site in general has a background image that's a bit more airy and upbeat.

Also redesigned was the Library page. The new site has a landing page with another navigation that allows the user to select a specific category. Within the Library, another redesigned page is the Books page that follows a similar layout as the homepage.
